Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
Mix in the pumpkin puree and spices until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
Drop heaping tablespoons of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Sprinkle decorative sprinkles on top of the dough before baking.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
